Mary Clayton is not just an experienced and accomplished runner, but is also a very creative individual

Mary recently decorated a large rock in the club colors, blue and yellow, and added the figures of a male and female runner. She also added the inscription Brockville Runners “Rock”. All can be seen in the header photo above.

Mary’s intention was to place the rock along the Brock Trial, “our trail” in many ways in terms of usage and the distinctive blue kilometer marker posts along the Blockhouse to Central Ave portion of the trail. (These posts were installed in 2010 as part of a city and private donors sponsored commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Brockville Road Runners foundation in 1985.)

There was some discussion as to the best place to place the rock. Ruby McCabe-Locke was instrumental in convincing Mary and others as to the most appropriate spot for Mary’s artwork. Mary has since placed the rock in that spot and we leave it as a little teaser for you to find that location.

Thanks Mary for your initiative and generosity in this worthwhile project.
